Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold gives an update on his injury

According to the club’s official site, English international Trent Alexander-Arnold has given a positive appraisal of his situation ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The marauding right-back ended last season strongly and was even named in the England squad for the Euros. Unfortunately, he picked up an injury in the run-up to the tournament and was replaced by Ben White in the Three Lions squad.

Now back in full training with Liverpool, Trent is confident that he can feature in Tuesday’s opening friendly matches against Wacker Innsbruck and VfB Stuttgart. With a pivotal season ahead of us, it is imperative that our best players get into top form as early as possible.

“I feel fit, I feel healthy and I’m back in full training now, so it’s good. It’s good for me.”

While Trent is keen to feature in pre-season matches, he has left the onus of selection to the manager and his assistants. Liverpool have struggled with injuries in the past and it will hold us in good stead to ensure Trent is in top condition before we throw him into the mix.

“The decision comes from the manager, the staff and obviously the medical staff, they need to talk and see if it’s worth the risk.”

While the youngster may not start Tuesday’s matches, he could be thrown on for a few minutes. We will have to wait and see what happens. Trent meanwhile is ready to take it as it comes and will be ready to go if called upon.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the best young players in Europe.

The 22-year-old is set to undergo the final stage of his rehabilitation. While he is keen to take the field, it is heartening to see that he is also being cautious. We cannot afford to let another set of injuries derail us and the players will hopefully go on to enjoy a relatively injury-free season this time around.
