Real Madrid put a £20m price tag on Liverpool target Isco

According to the Liverpool Echo, Real Madrid have allowed Isco to leave the club for a fee of £20million this summer, with Liverpool keen on signing the player.

Earlier this week, according to Fichajes via Anfield watch (h/t Liverpool Echo), the Reds were showing an interest in the Spanish midfielder, along with three unnamed clubs.

However, the Reds now know the price they will have to pay to secure the 29-year-old midfielder’s services, and given that they have already made nearly £30million

 in sales this summer, paying Isco’s fee should not be an issue for the club. 

Isco’s versatility makes him a great option for Liverpool as he can play on the wings and in the midfield. However, with Liverpool keen on adding reinforcements in the attack, Isco might feature more on the wings while he could also facilitate Jurgen Klopp playing a 4-2-3-1 formation. 

The Spaniard, who managed less than 900 La Liga minutes last season, is in search of more game-time, and with Liverpool ready to compete on all fronts again next season, there could be a lot of rotation in the line-up. 

Moreover, the Reds are facing the prospect of losing Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, while Divock Origi could also leave the club. Thus, Liverpool need quality depth in their frontline, something a player of Isco’s capabilities could certainly provide. 

However, Liverpool will have to move fast to sign the player as the other three unnamed clubs are also in the hunt

 to secure the services of the Spanish star. 

Apart from Isco, the Reds have also been linked with the likes of Federico Chiesa, Jarrod Bowen, Jeremy Doku, and Domenico Berardi as they look to challenge for the biggest titles again next season.
