Liverpool given Renato Sancho boost as Lille could be ready to offload the player

Liverpool have received a huge boost in the pursuit of Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, with Lille ready to let go of the player this summer, according to Le10Sport (h/t Daily Star).

The Reds have been linked with the 23-year-old midfielder throughout the summer, and given the player’s quality and talent, Liverpool would be adding a really good player to their ranks.

Sanches, who would not have happy memories from England after his poor spell with Swansea, was instrumental in Lille’s Ligue 1 win last season while he also performed well with Portugal at the Euros as he helped his country reach the Round of 16 of the tournament.

Given that Liverpool do have a vacant spot in midfield due to the departure of Gini Wijnaldum to PSG this summer, it could be filled by Renato Sanches, who has the dynamism and quality to play in that role.

Moreover, Jurgen Klopp is also keen on the player, while Sanches would also want to play at a club that would be competing for the biggest trophies this season, including the Champions League.

Additionally, there is a lot of uncertainty around club captain Jordan Henderson’s future, thus, signing Sanches would be a good move on Liverpool’s part.

The Reds are keen on signing a central midfielder this summer, as they have also been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, and AC Milan’s Franck Kessie.

Lille are ready to let go of the player this summer because they want to cash in on the player rather than letting him go on a free next year. The Reds could get some kind of bargain deal.
