Liverpool line up contracts for six new stars including Salah after Alexander-Arnold extension

Liverpool set to hand out contract to six players after Trent Alexander-Arnold

According to The Athletic (h/t Daily Mail), Liverpool are set to hand six other players fresh contracts after tying down Trent Alexander-Arnold to a new deal.

Alexander-Arnold signed a new contract with Liverpool on Friday, extending his stay at the club till 2025. It has been suggested that the academy product will now be among one of the highest-paid players at the club.

Following up on that, Liverpool are now ready to hand out new contracts to six new players as they look to protect the future of their core group of players under Jurgen Klopp.

Starting from the back, first-choice goalkeeper Alisson is among the ones who will be handed out a new deal. The Brazilian’s current deal runs till 2024, but is still set to be rewarded with fresh terms after his impressive displays.

Moving ahead, defenders Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson are also in line for new contracts at Anfield. The former, who was injured for most of the last season, has two years left on his existing deal whereas Robertson’s current contract runs till 2024.

Next up, it is midfield mainstay Fabinho, who is set to be rewarded with a new deal. The Brazilian proved his worth last season with the flexibility and versatility he provided. His current contract runs out in 2023.

Upfront, rounding off the list of six players set for new contracts, are star duo, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, both of whom have two years left on their current deals.

Surprisingly, the report claims that a new deal might not be on offer for Salah and Mane’s attack partner Roberto Firmino, whose contract also runs out in 2023. As for captain Jordan Henderson, contract talks have been put on pause currently after initial negotiations.
