Liverpool face competition from Euro giants for 21-goal transfer target – report

Inter Milan have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic this summer

According to CalcioMercato (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are set to face competition for the signature of Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic this summer, as Inter Milan look to make a move for the player.

Vlahovic, who scored 21 goals in all competitions for Fiorentina last season, has been on the radar of Liverpool since the start of the summer.

The Reds are looking to add a forward to their ranks as they could lose the likes of Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri this summer. Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster his attacking options, and an out-and-out forward like Vlahovic could be the perfect man for the job.

Moreover, at 21, the striker is seen as a brilliant prospect with a lot of time to develop – something he could certainly do under Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

However, Inter Milan have joined the race to sign the forward as they are facing the prospect of losing Lautaro Martinez to Arsenal this summer, according to CalcioMercato (h/t Liverpool Echo). Thus, if Martinez does move, Inter could move for a replacement in the form of Vlahovic.

So, Liverpool will certainly have to grind their teeth to secure this signing, and given the player’s goal-scoring prowess last season, it could be a huge coup for the Reds. The forward is expected to cost more than £40million, thus it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will continue to pursue the forward.
