Insigne played was a vital member of Italy’s Euro 2020 winning squad. The winger played six matches at the tournament and scored two goals. While the output could seem underwhelming, his ball-carrying abilities and work rate helped his nation to glory.

Napoli’s youth academy signed Insigne in 2006. Growing through the ranks, he made his debut in the senior team in 2010. Since then, he has gone on to make 397 appearances for the club, scoring 109 goals and 85 assists. Apart from few loan spells, the player has been a one-club man.

Should Liverpool sign Lorenzo Insigne?

The Merseyside club currently have the likes of Mo Salah, Firmino, Mane, Jota, Origi and Minamino on their books. The front three, apart from Salah, have shown signs of decline. One would assume that the club will be aware of Salah’s and Mane’s unavailability during January. Both players will be out for the Africa Cup of Nations.
