Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur want to land Liverpool target Adama Traore

According to a report by Spanish outlet AS (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur are readying a transfer offer for Liverpool target and Wolves winger, Adama Traore.

The Spanish forward has been on Liverpool’s radar for a while now. But it seems like Nuno Espirito Santo, the ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, wants to reunite with Traore at N17.

The West Midlands side have placed a £40million price tag and would be willing to sell him if the valuation is met. The report adds that Spurs are currently in the process of ‘drawing up an offer’.

Moreover, Wolves are already eyeing Valencia forward, Goncalo Guedes, as a potential replacement for the 25-year-old Spaniard. Traore had a disappointing last season after an impressive 2019/20 campaign.

Traore to LFC?

The explosive winger can offer any team an exciting dynamic down the right-hand side. But it remains to be seen if he joins a team like Liverpool, whose front three- now ‘front four’, is almost set in stone.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane man the wings by default, while Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota have found immense favour under Klopp. Jota was, of course, teammates with Traore during their time at Molineux.

But at that price tag, the Reds should be wary of the player they are signing and must have a plan in place, not just for now, but for the near future as well. Traore could divide opinions within the fanbase.

But at 25, he could be a long-term asset at Anfield and after all, Klopp has described the player as ‘unplayable‘ in the past. Nevertheless, only time will tell what destination Traore chooses.
