Liverpool have sanctioned a loan move for Ben Woodburn
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have let Ben Woodburn leave the club on a loan move with the 21-year-old joining Scottish team Hearts.
The 21-year-old was utilized by Jurgen Klopp during pre-season as he featured in the last two games against Athletic Bilbao and CA Osasuna. However, he has now completed a loan move to Hearts.
The Reds, who already possess the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, and Divock Origi, have quite a lot of depth in the frontline while the Anfield outfit have also been linked with the Juventus’ Federico Chiesa, Anderlecht’s Jeremy Doku, Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, and several other players.
If Liverpool do manage to add another forward in this lineup, it would have been harder than it already was for Woodburn to get considerable game time this season.
The young Welshman, who has spent the last three seasons on loan, with his last temporary stint coming with League One side Blackpool, which is managed by former U-23 Reds coach Neil Critchley.
Although the 21-year-old joined them at the start of last season, he returned in the winter transfer window itself and joined Liverpool’s U-23 side, making 13 Premier League 2 appearances, scoring 5 goals in the process.
