Marcelo Brozovic eyed by Liverpool in free transfer in 2022

According to Inter Live (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are keen on a move for Marcelo Brozovic next summer as the Croat will be a free agent then.

The 28-year-old, who joined Inter Milan in 2016, has been incredible for the Nerazzurri but could move next summer.

The midfielder has entered into the final year of his contract and will be eligible to talk to foreign clubs in January itself over a pre-contract agreement which will see the Croatian join the respective club on a free transfer next summer.

Liverpool are keen to throw their hat in the mix as they are looking to bolster their midfield options. Although the Reds already possess the likes of Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, James Milner and Harvey Elliot, they could use the quality of a technician like Brozovic.

Moreover, Klopp was posed with a lot of injury problems last year due to the fitness issues of Henderson and Thiago. If the Reds do suffer injury troubles, they would need a quality midfielder in their ranks.

Additionally, Brozovic will also bring a winning mentality to Anfield as he managed to win the Serie A with Inter last season. The Croat played a huge role in this as he made 33 league appearances, scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists in the process.

While other clubs could also join the Reds in the race to sign the 28-year-old next summer, the Anfield outfit are serious about a ‘potential’ move for the San Siro midfielder.

Thus, only time will tell whether the Merseyside club can sign the central midfielder on a free transfer next summer.
