Transfer News: Jarrod Bowen will be on the radar of Liverpool even after deadline day

According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Liverpool transfer target, Jarrod Bowen, is set to stay at West Ham United for this season.

The English winger has been on Liverpool’s radar, but it is likely that he stays put at the London Stadium for the time being. However, that won’t be the end of the road for the Reds in this pursuit.

The report adds that Liverpool “will continue to follow his progress” even after deadline day. This points towards a possibility that the Reds can make another move for him in the future.

That is something only time will tell. For now, it would come as a disappointment to many Liverpool fans that the club has failed to sign big names in attack during the summer.

LFC to wait for Bowen

The 2019 UEFA Champions League winners were less than impressive last season, but much of it was down to injuries. With the Reds unimpressive bench coupled with Xherdan Shaqiri’s departure to Lyon, the club could use an attacking reinforcement.

Bowen, despite not being a household name in Europe, would have been a beneficial addition for the German manager at Anfield. The 24-year-old impressed for Hull City in the Championship and has translated that form in the Premier League as well.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah could use some backup at Liverpool.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have a good few seasons left in them, so maybe Bowen’s potential addition wasn’t all that urgent when it comes to the first-team picture. But it’s true that he would have strengthened the club’s bench when it comes to attacking options.
