Liverpool in ‘strong position’ to sign Erling Haaland next summer
According to Spanish outlet Diario Madridista (h/t Express), Liverpool are set to battle Manchester United for the signing of Erling Haaland next summer.
The pair are both interested in making a move for the Norwegian superstar next year as he could be available for nearly £64million next summer.
The 21-year-old has been in amazing form ever since he joined Dortmund a year and a half ago, as the forward has managed to score 63 goals in 64 games across all competitions for the German outfit.
Thus, the Norwegian has become a prized asset for the Bundesliga club and they managed to retain his services for this season. The Signal Iduna Park outfit slapped a £150million price tag on the forward this year to ward off suitors interested in the youngster.
However, several clubs are circling to sign the 21-year-old next summer, including Liverpool. The Reds, who possess Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino, Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi, and Sadio Mane, still need to bolster their frontline next summer.
With Divock Origi linked a move away from the club and the fact that Salah will enter into the final year of his contract next year, a move for Haaland could be orchestrated by the Reds.

The Anfield outfit could do with an out-and-out centre-forward, especially of Haaland’s quality. However, signing him will not be an easy move as they will have to fend off interest from rivals Manchester United, according to Diario Madridista (h/t Express)
Moreover, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Real Madrid are also keen on deals for the Norwegian. Thus, the Reds could have to provide the 21-year-old with an exciting project, if he is to sign for the Merseyside club. However, it remains to be seen where Haaland’s preferred destination lies next summer.
