Franck Kessie’s agent dismisses any rumour of unhappiness at FC Barcelona amid Liverpool rumours
Liverpool have been in dire need of a midfielder since the beginning of the season with injuries to key players, including new loan signing Arthur Melo who was brought in to solve the crisis.
Now, it was claimed that FC Barcelona’s new signing Franck Kessie was unhappy with his playing time in his new team, providing Liverpool with an opportunity to sneak in.
However, speaking to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Liverpool Echo), the agent of the player has dismissed the rumours and insists that the player is happy with FC Barcelona and has no plans to leave anytime soon, quashing any possibility for Liverpool to make their interest more concrete.
“It’s all fake news, totally false. He is happy in Barcelona and he doesn’t want to leave.”
“Franck has only been at the club for a few months, still in the process of adapting to the team and Barça’s style of play.”
Franck Kessie refused to sign a contract extension at former club AC Milan and signed on a free transfer with FC Barcelona to be part of head coach Xavi’s revolution to bring the good times back to the club.
However, the player has yet to establish himself as a key member of the team with a majority of his appearances for the club coming from the bench. Such is the situation at FC Barcelona who have a plethora of world-class midfielders that a player of Kessie’s ilk is not getting enough minutes.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are struggling to find consistency and balance in the midfield with many of our midfield maestros past their prime. Kessie could have definitely added more steel and composure for our back line had there been a possibility that a move could be on the cards.
For the time being, it is hard to say that there is a possibility that Kessie joins Liverpool, after having just joined his new club.
However, the footballing world has taught us one thing which is that nothing is impossible in the transfer window and in the future, an opportunity might present itself where a possibility for a deal is there.

For now, we have to be satisfied with the personnel that are present at the club and hope that our key players regain their form and get some positive results before the FIFA World Cup begins in November.
