Liverpool starlet Harvey Elliott withdraws from England U-21’s due to injury
According to Metro, Liverpool starlet Harvey Elliott has withdrawn from the England U-21 squad due to injury. The midfielder joined up with the side despite the injury he suffered in the Chelsea game but has now been ruled out.
Liverpool made a brave call over not allowing their South American stars to leave for international duty. After what happened on Sunday during Argentina versus Brazil, it looks all the more correct (h/t Sky Sports). It would seem they have a casualty regardless but probably indirectly.
Elliott had been called up for the first time to the U-21’s and could have gotten his debut in the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier. England are scheduled to play Kosovo but it seems the highly talented Elliott will not be making an appearance. He has withdrawn from the side over an injury.
The injury was actually suffered against Chelsea in the last game before the international break. Since it was a minor muscle injury, he was a part of the England squad. However, he was not fit enough to be playing and he has now been sent back home. It is understood to be a precaution and Liverpool will now keep tabs on his condition.

Given the way Elliott has performed so far, Liverpool will be hoping he is back in time for their next game. The youngster has taken to the side like a duck to water and has impressed one and all with his abilities. Next up is a visit to Leeds on 12th September and there is the belief that he can make the trip.
