Transfer News: Liverpool in a three-club battle with Barcelona, Bayern to land wonderkid Karim Adeyemi
According to German outlet Bild (h/t Mirror), Liverpool are in a three-club battle to land Red Bull Salzburg wonderkid, Karim Adeyemi. The 19-year old was on the score sheet for the German national football team against Armenia in World Cup Qualifiers.
Liverpool had a quiet summer transfer window this time around. They only managed to sign Ibrahim Konate from RB Leipzig. In their bid to get in new signings next window, they are now in a race to sign Adeyemi from RB Salzburg.
The Reds are understood to be in a three-way battle to sign the German wonder kid. Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also interested in signing the 19-year old who is on a rise with his recent performances for the German club.
The teenager had 29 league appearances last season, where he scored 7 goals and handed out 9 assists. However, his explosive start to this season with 6 goals in 6 games has garnered a lot of attention towards the teenager.
Former Unterhaching president, Manfred Schwabl, claimed that there was interest from the Premier League clubs this summer. but the player decided to stay at Salzburg- which was deemed as a correct decision by Schwabl.
“The move to Salzburg was exactly right because it’s not too far away from his home in Munich. The closeness to his family is very important. He has a very good and stable environment.”
“If he continues like this, I would say it will be interesting from the spring .”

His performances have seen the player being valued at £17m by the club and that value could rise if he continues to perform at this level. Liverpool, having made no considerable moves this summer window, would be keeping a close eye on the German teenager.
Liverpool, Bayern Munich or Barcelona- these clubs all remain as potential destinations for him and it remains to be seen where he ends up next year. At his age, Liverpool could be signing a talented first-team asset if they manage to get a move across the line for him.
