Liverpool and Brazil involved in a stalemate over international call-up for three star players

According to Globo Esporte (h/t Daily Star), Liverpool could be involved in a clash against Brazil who are set to call up three stars for international duty. The trio of Liverpool star Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino could be called up for Brazil’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers during the Premier League gameweek.

International duty for the month of September draws close to its closing stage. Brazil are, however, expected to call up three of the Liverpool stars for their upcoming qualifiers in the month of October which could see the players miss out on major fixtures for the Reds.

Reports by Globo Esporte (h/t Daily Star) states that the Selecao could take three of Liverpool’s stars for an extended period of time. Premier League had unanimously agreed to not allow their players to be released to South America on international duty due to Covid-19 concerns.

Anyone who travels from the continent of Britain has to undertake a mandatory 14-day quarantine. However, it is understood this won’t stop Brazil manager Tite to call up his players from Premier League clubs for the upcoming games against Venezuela, Colombia and Uruguay in October.

If the Liverpool players are to report for international duty next month, they could miss out on a trip to Watford and big games against Atletico Madrid in UEFA Champions League followed by the derby against bitter rivals Manchester United.
