Liverpool have held talks with super agent Mino Raiola to sign Erling Haaland

According to 90min (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool have been in talks with Mino Raiola for the past 12 months regarding a potential dead to sign Erling Haaland. The 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker was expected to leave on a big-money transfer deal this summer but he is still at Signal Iduna Park, and has started the season in fine form for them.

Liverpool had a relatively quiet summer transfer window as their only signing was Ibrahima Konate who joined the club this summer from RB Leipzig. However, despite not adding any big attacking player to the team, the club are believed to have been in talks with Mino Raiola for a deal regarding Haaland.

The Dortmund striker, in his 41 appearances for the German club, scored a total of 41 goals in all competitions last season. And he has started this season in fine form, netting 8 goals in 6 appearances for his team.

The Norwegian player’s release clause of £68million will be active in the summer of 2022. However, the Reds making a move for the striker cannot be ruled out as the club could be looking to add a major signing in attacking third next summer.

The Reds currently have Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota as their frontline attacker. With Firmino out due to injury, it has already brought Jota in action as he is the direct replacement.
