Liverpool linked Karim Adeyemi open to Bayern Munich move

Speaking in an interview as cited by Marca (h/t Liverpool Echo), Karim Adeyemi has handed a fresh blow to Liverpool as he reveals that he would opt to join Bayern Munich amidst transfer speculation.

Liverpool, who possess the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino, and Divock Origi in their ranks, could make another addition to the frontline.

The Reds lost the services of Xherdan Shaqiri this summer as he completed a move to Lyon. Given the fact that Roberto Firmino only managed 9 league goals last season, signing another player in the centre-forward role could be a clever move by the Anfield outfit.

The Merseyside club were said to be interested in securing the services of German youngster Karim Adeyemi, who has been proven to be a revelation for RB Salzburg since he signed for them back in 2018.

The 19-year-old has already made 61 appearances for the Austrian club and has managed 17 goals and 17 assists in the process. Moreover, the youngster has been a pivotal part of the side that has kept on retaining the Austrian Championship since the 2013/14 season.

Thus, the youngster would be a quality addition to the Reds. However, the 19-year-old has now handed a blow to the Merseyside outfit after he confirmed that he would prefer a move to Bayern Munich instead. He said, as cited by Marca (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“If (Bayern) made me an offer, I think I would choose that path,”

“I want to show them what I can do, who I am, and that it was a mistake to let me go. That motivates me.”

While it remains to be seen if Bayern Munich are interested in a move for the attacker, this would be a huge blow for the Reds as they might now have to focus their attention elsewhere.
