Transfer News: PSG enter the race for Liverpool target and AC Milan ace Franck Kessie

According to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Liverpool Echo), Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race to sign Liverpool FC target, Franck Kessie from AC Milan.

The midfielder joined the Rossoneri from Atlanta on a loan deal in 2017 which became a permanent move to the San Siro in 2019. The 24-year-old is in demand as he nears the end of his contract.

The Ivorian player has been linked with a move to Anfield as no new contract has been signed with AC Milan yet. PSG is another top club that has thrown its hat in the ring. The French club have developed a great rapport of free transfers in the last couple of seasons.

Kessie is in the twilight of his current contract and could be a free agent really soon. He has also been linked to other clubs like Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur. The Milan outfit would not want a repeat of what happened with Gianluigi Donnarumma who left San Siro as a free agent.

The Reds have also faced a similar dilemma as midfielder Gini Wijnaldum made his way to Paris on a free transfer. It is also being reported that Manchester United star Paul Pogba is on the French club’s radar.

The 24-year-old midfielder has played a key role in Milan’s revival as they finished 2nd in the Serie A last season. This was their best finish to the Italian league ever since 2012.

Franck Kessie scored 13 goals last season for the Italian club. He has been an important part of their setup for the last couple of years. Any of the above-mentioned teams including Liverpool would love to add the player to their squad considering what he can bring to the table.
