Liverpool amongst clubs that sent scouts to monitor Barcelona vs Benfica
According to The Independent’s Melissa Reddy (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool were in a long list of clubs whose scouts were in attendance at the Barcelona vs Benfica game.
The next transfer window is inching closer with every passing day, and many of the top clubs would like to make significant additions to their squads. The scouts will be working overtime to identify and follow up on possible stars for their teams.
Liverpool were pretty inactive in the last transfer window. Ibrahima Konate was the only significant addition to the Reds squad this season. In that regard, the Anfield outfit would be looking to make more of an impact in the coming window.
Fans would even feel that the club needs a fresh face in midfield, due to the recent injury concerns to Thiago Alcantara and Harvey Elliott. Jurgen Klopp could certainly do with some additions to this squad as the club would want to get their hands on some silverware this season.
Benfica shocked the Catalan giants as they recorded a 3-0 victory against the Spanish club. This was Barcelona’s second defeat in the UEFA Champions League this season. Darwin Nunez and Rafa Silva got themselves on the scoresheet against Barcelona and Eric Garcia’s red card late in the game only added to Barca’s woes.
