Liverpool in three-way race to land AC Milan ace Franck Kessie

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are already in a closely contested race over signing the 24-year-old AC Milan central midfielder Franck Kessie.

European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United are closely monitoring Kessie’s situation at San Siro as he continues to run down the final year of his current contract.

According to the report, Merseyside rivals Everton have also expressed their interest in signing the Ivory Coast ace. The midfielder does not appear to be short of options.

Kessie is soon anticipated to be a free agent and unless he signs a contract extension at San Siro, could be on his way out. He is currently playing in the final year of his contract at AC Milan.

His ball control and ability to move the ball in the right direction could be an asset for the Reds if they manage to bring him to Anfield in the coming transfer window. It will be a welcome addition to Jurgen Klopp’s ageing midfield.

Kessie scored 14 goals for the Italian giants last season and managed to provide assists on six more different occasions. He has been at San Siro since the 2017-18 season.
