Liverpool legend Ian Rush reveals details of his conversation with Mohamed Salah regarding his future plans

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Liverpool Echo, Liverpool legend Ian Rush has revealed details about his conversation with Mohamed Salah. He also adds his opinion about Salah’s future at Anfield and what he would like to see from the Egyptian.

Rush is considered as the Reds’ greatest ever goalscorer having scored 336 goals across all competitions. That record is unlikely to be broken anytime soon as Salah, who is closest to him among the active roster, is on 134 goals.

The Kop legend believes that Mo Salah is the best player in the world at the moment. A consistent performer since joining the club, the Egyptian has continued his blistering form into this season. Mo has a goal contribution of nine goals and three assists in nine matches so far.

“I’ve said this before, right, at the present moment, on current form, Mo Salah is the best player in the world!”

The former Welsh international revealed that Salah told him his plans of being the best player in the world. He believes the winger’s drive to that goal is the cause of his outstanding form. He continued by saying that the 29-year-old has raised his level and has reached newer heights.

“I spoke to Mo last season and he told me he wants to be the best in the world. He’s upped his game this year. It’s not just about him scoring goals and people will say he’s selfish and whatever, but he’s been supplying assists as well this season.”

The former Reds striker has also expressed that he would like to see Salah continue at Anfield. He hopes that FSG and Mo’s representatives would agree on a deal that would keep the winger on Merseyside for seasons to come.

Rush also hopes that Mo Salah would be a long term asset for the club and believes that he can break his record. While the latter part is slightly fanciful, we completely agree with Rush’s assessment that Salah is currently the best player in world football.
