Liverpool willing to make 29-year-old superstar club’s highest-earner with bumper new contract

Liverpool ready to offer Mohamed Salah a bumper new deal worth £385,000 per week

According to Football Insider (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are ready to make a huge offer for Mohamed Salah as contract negotiations continue. The supposed deal would make Salah the highest-paid player in the squad.

As per the report, the Merseyside club is set to make an offer worth £385,000 per week as part of the talks. If accepted, the deal would comfortably make the Egyptian the highest earner at the club.

Talks about Mo Salah’s future have been intensified in the past few weeks as the Reds would be hoping to put an end to it. The winger’s new contract will; comfortably eclipse Virgil Van Dijk’s new extension of £220,000-a-week

The report also claims that Salah wants the contract to run until 2026 which would safeguard his long-term future. The 29-year-old deserves a raise for his contribution to the success of the team.

Jurgen Klopp would not want any uncertainty surrounding his squad as it can affect team harmony. He would be happy to hear that the English club does not want to drag this on as they are looking to

wrap this up before the winter transfer window.

Mo’s current contract will last until 2023 and talks to renew it have been going on for quite some time. If finalised, this would add him to the list of players who have been recently committed their futures to the club.

Giving long contracts to players in their late years is usually considered risky. However, Salah’s fitness record should speak for itself in this case. He is already the club’s seventh all-time highest goalscorer despite having only joined the club in 2017.

There are few players better than Salah today in the world. He should also be earning a salary similar to these elite footballers. Mo Salah should feel that he is valued at the club and FSG has to ensure that is the case.
