Transfer News: Paris Saint-Germain keen on Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah
According to AS (h/t Liverpool Echo), French giant Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah as an alternative to Erling Haaland. This is, however, said to be the case only if Kylian Mbappe does not renew his contract at the Parc des Princes.
Liverpool and Salah’s representatives are currently in the process of negotiating the Egyptian’s contract at Anfield. It is claimed that a fee around the region of £400,000 per week is currently being discussed. It will make Salah the highest earner in club history.
However, if both parties are not able to reach an agreement, PSG could emerge as a possible destination for the winger. But then it all depends on whether they can keep hold of Mbappe.
The French forward had earlier admitted that he wanted to leave for Real Madrid. With the 22-year-old’s contract set to expire next year, he could walk away on a free transfer.
PSG are eyeing Haaland in case if they are not able to renew the World Cup winner. Supposedly, a release clause worth £68 million will be activated next year and the Parisians could look to activate that option.
However, should the Borussia Dortmund striker disagree to join, the Paris based club could look towards Mo Salah. But, if Mo agrees on a deal before that happens then the French club would be powerless to force their will.
