Transfer News: Liverpool target Dusan Vlahovic looks set to leave Fiorentina
According to the reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano (h/t Mirror), Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic could be available in the upcoming transfer market after rejecting several offers to extend his deal with La Viola.
The Serbian international is steadily establishing himself as one of the best marksmen in Europe. He enjoyed a stellar 2020/21 campaign and has continued his good form into the new season.
Vlahovic has already scored ten goals and provided one assist in 12 matches across all competitions this season. Only Italian veteran Ciro Immobile has outscored him in the Italian top flight this season.
The 21-year-old won the Serie A Best Young Player award last season. He scored an incredible 21 goals in 40 matches to achieve that feat. More so, only Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Muriel and Romelu Lukaku outscored him.
But even with his influential performances, Fiorentina stumbled in the Seria A race last season, finishing a disappointing 13th in the table. It was largely a one-man show and little appears to have changed.
Vlahovic’s contract with La Viola expires in 2023. Having him enter the final year of his contract next summer will put the Italians in a weak negotiating position.
Last month Club president Rosso Commisso confirmed that the club were keen to make Vlahvoic the best-paid player in their history. The Serbian however has rejected the opportunity and now could be on the move in the coming windows.
