Transfer News: Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp keen on signing Eden Hazard
According to the Spanish publication, El Nacional (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keeping a keen eye on Eden Hazard.
The Belgian superstar joined Real from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. He has however failed to impress at the Bernabeu. Injuries and a massive dip in form have largely seen his transfer go a bust in the Spanish capital.
Hazard has looked a pale shadow of himself at the Santiago Bernabeu. A world-class performer at Chelsea, a return to the Premier League could help rekindle his career.
Despite turning 30 and losing his way a little, Hazard is on his day a match-winner. A manager such as Klopp can surely get the best out of him and reshape him into a leading star.
However, Hazard’s wage demands could prove to be a major obstacle in Liverpool signing him. The Reds have a rigid wage structure in place and it will count for little if they bend it to accommodate the Belgian international.
There is little doubting Hazard’s quality. But rather than bring in a highly paid player for a short-term deal, Liverpool are better off investing the same amount in youth.
Klopp’s side is ageing and a youth infusion is more critical to ensure the club remains competitive for years to come. While Hazard would certainly be a top signing on paper, there is more to be gained for the club if they look at a younger alternative.

Hazard will at best prove to be a short term signing for Liverpool given his age. While there is talent, whether he can rediscover the same levels of motivation remains to be seen.
The Reds are better off steering clear of the Belgian and focussing their attentions elsewhere.
