Transfer Update: Liverpool keen on signing Porto ace Luis Diaz
According to CalcioMercato (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are interested in pursuing Porto winger Luis Diaz, who was a target for Everton.
The wideman is proving to be an excellent attacking option for the Primera Liga giants. He has so far scored 11 goals in 16 games for the Dragões.
The Columbian player had a fabulous time in the Copa America tournament. He was named ‘Revelation of Copa America’ due to his incredible performance. He finished the tournament by becoming the joint top goalscorer along with Lionel Messi.

The 24-years-old was previously a target of Everton. The toffees were eager to offer James Rodriguez as part of a deal this summer. The former Real Madrid player’s performance dropped after the head manager Carlo Ancelotti moved to the Bernabeu.
Liverpool’s current forward contingent has the potential to give nightmares to any defensive unit. But Mohamed Salah’s consistency and alluring performance game after the game have taken the headlines leaving many attacking problems unquestioned.

Roberto Firmino’s performance has been volatile for quite some time now. Diego Jota didn’t give a convincing performance against West Ham United and was substituted by Divock Origi in the game’s last quarter.

There are still options available in the hands of Jurgen Klopp. But a versatile player like Diaz could provide him with opportunities to form a dynamic playing squad for every match.
But the Merseyside team won’t be having a free run if they decide to go for the Columbian player in the next transfer window. It is believed that Newcastle and Roma are also targeting the left-winger.
The Reds board has Mohamed Salah’s massive new agreement in the cards, so they would like to have a modest deal. Certainly, Diaz won’t be a bargain for them as it is believed that the former Junior FC player would cost them more than €60m.
