Transfer News: Wolves are ‘ready to sell’ Liverpool target Adama Traore

According to 90Min (h/t Liverpool Echo), Wolves have decided to hear offers for Adama Traore, who has been a Liverpool target for quite some time.

The winger has been a critical player for Wolves in the past few seasons. His physicality is unmatched in the Premier League, and what is more astonishing is his pace and acceleration with such a muscular body.

Any Premier League defender would need to be extra attentive to the 25-year-old player who even puts on body oil to repel his markers. Traore’s talent still needs refining and in Jurgen Klopp, he might have the right man for the job.

Traore is closing on the end of his contract terms with the Wanderers. Despite it running until the 2023 mark, he is yet to pen down any new renewals. Now, it seems the contract negotiations have been ‘stalled’ as the player is disinterested in the offered terms.

In such a case, it seems Wolves have decided to hear offers from interested teams as they are ready to sell the forward.

Liverpool have been a long admirer of the Spanish player. The Reds are yet to find viable backups for their usual front three. Furthermore, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané are set to miss several matches in January due to the African Cup of Nations. To avoid a crisis in the absence of their star player Jurgen Klopp would need to find players who can cover up for them.

Despite having a promising start in the debut season with the Wolves, the former Middlesbrough player had a disappointing run in the last season regarding his conversion rate.

It is believed that Liverpool are not convinced to pay the £40million asking price for the forward and believe the player’s value is far lower than that.

It seems Liverpool would have to battle out FC Barcelona for the possession of the Left Winger. Traore has a history with the Catalan club. He graduated from La Masia, the world-famous youth academy of Barcelona. In such a case, the Spanish team intends to bring back their homegrown player at Camp Nou.
