Transfer News; Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Liverpool target Jeremy Doku
According to Fichajes (h/t Liverpool Echo), Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich are set to compete with Liverpool to sign Belgian winger Jeremy Doku.
The19-year-old has been a stand out performer in the French Ligue 1 for Rennes. The youngster has shown both maturity and positivity in his style of play, and his growth at such a young age has attracted many big European clubs.
Liverpool has been a big admirer of the youngster for a long time. It is believed that the Merseyside club tried to lure him when he was still playing for Anderlecht.
However, he chose to join Rennes in the end. The move suited him as he got the opportunity to garner regular game time in one of the world’s top leagues. Now, it seems he is ready to take the next step in his career.
Even though Liverpool has kept their interest to sign the starlet, they face massive competition from foreign clubs.
It is believed that German giant Bayern Munich has entered the race to sign the young winger. Die Roten poses one of the most threatening forward line-ups in the world. But the inclusion of fast and agile players like Doku can give Julian Nagelsmann extra help in the attacking contingent.
On the other hand, Liverpool doesn’t possess the luxury of having many fresh alternatives in the squad. There has been little to no complaints about the performance of Liverpool’s untouchable front three. But the reality is that they are all ageing. The rebuild is more of a question of when than if.

Even though the coming of Harvey Elliott to the squad has injected fresh blood, the Reds squad need more viable alternatives to perform at the highest stage and fight on multiple fronts.
Barcelona has also kept an eye on the Belgian player’s situation, but it seems they wouldn’t be able to afford Doku given their financial complexities.
