Transfer News: Liverpool are keeping tabs on Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala
According to Calciomercato (h/t Express), Contract talks between Paulo Dybala and Juventus have come to a standstill and Liverpool are keeping a keen eye on proceedings.
The Argentine international has been an exceptional servant of the Bianconeri. He has provided consistent performances across several seasons and is arguably their best player at this moment in time.
This season has been no different as the 28-year-old player has already bagged eight goals and four assists in 15 appearances. After recovering from injury, he has been one of the stand-out performers in Serie A this season.
The attacking star has spent more than five years in Turin. However, it seems his Juventus days are coming to an end. Despite nearing the end of his contract term, Dybala hasn’t penned down any new deal. It is believed that the former US Palermo forward’s recent renewal talks have gone ‘quiet’.
Liverpool has been tracking the situation for some time. It is believed that The Merseyside team want to lure the Juve star for free in the following summer. Landing a player of the 28-year-old’s ability for free is nothing short of daylight robbery.
Liverpool currently holds one of the most threatening front three in world football. However, a recent injury to Roberto Firmino kept him out for several games this season. Amidst such a scenario, Jurgen Klopp could use some fresh legs going into next season.
On the other hand, The Reds would need to play several games without Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane due to the AFCON tournament call up. Jurgen Klopp would be going into the mid-season with his star wingers, which is not an ideal thing for the title contenders.
Whether the Reds can force Juventus’s hand in January for Dybala remains to be seen.
