Liverpool target Jeremy Doku is keen to earn a move to the Premier League
According to RTBF (h/t Liverpool Echo), Jeremy Doku, who has been linked with a Liverpool move for a long time, has revealed that he is working extensively hard to attract interest from the Premier League.
The Belgian has been termed one of the most talented youngsters in the football world. The 19-year-old has shown enough reasons to convince top teams to target him. Certainly, some elite European teams have already tried to sign him when he was 16. However, he decided to stay at Anderlecht and continue his development.
Doku’s parents revealed that Liverpool visited the Anderlecht facilities to track the Belgian forward and monitor his performance. The Reds were impressed enough and even tabled an offer. However, at that time, the teenager thought staying at Anderlecht could be the best decision for him.
Nevertheless, the Stade Rennais player thinks that the time has come for him to move to the next level. In a recent interview, he expressed his desire to play in the English top flight.
“I want to do everything to become one of the best players in the world, at one of the biggest clubs in the world, in the English Premier League if possible.”
The Belgian international also suggested that he is working hard to make the transfer happen.
“And I am working hard for that.”
It is believed that Liverpool hasn’t dropped their interest in Doku and are willing to move in when an opportunity arrives.
Liverpool is in dire need of fresh blood in the forward lineup. Jurgen Klopp will need to ensure he has a plan in place to replace his ageing superstars.
