Transfer Update: Liverpool are set to activate the €50 million release clause of Gavi
According to El Nacional (h/t ESPN), Liverpool are keen on luring Gavi and intends to trigger the €50 million release clause that would allow them to lure the youngster against Barcelona’s will.
Gavi is the latest young sensation to emerge from Barcelona’s famous youth academy, La Masia. The 17-year-old midfielder has shown incredible talent and awe-inspiring skills during his top-flight tenure.
The teenager has already made 20 appearances for the Catalan club this season. Looking at his incredible growth, new manager Xavi has continued to put his faith in the player.
The youngster is an excellent prospect for Barcelona’s future plans. Therefore, Joan Laporta’s board wouldn’t want to lose such a midfielder who appears to have a bright future ahead of him. However, the release clause could become a barrier for the Blaugrana to keep hold of the starlet.
It is believed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and FSG are in connotation to sign the Spaniard. It seems the Liverpool board would be tempted to activate the €50 million in order to sign the prospect.
