Liverpool are ‘super happy’ with Ibrahima Konate after signing him from RB Leipzig

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via Anfield Watch (h/t Daily Star), Liverpool are super happy with the progress shown by Ibrahima Konate at Anfield.

The Reds had signed the defender from RB Leipzig in the summer after triggering the Frenchman’s £36 million release clause.

The 22-year-old was manager Jurgen Klopp’s only summer signing that season, and the defender has had to wait patiently for his chances to establish himself in the team.

Liverpool are ‘super happy’ with Ibrahima Konate, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Konate was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s opening four games in the Premier League. Since then, the Frenchman has slowly worked his way onto the teamsheet and seems to have replaced Joel Matip as Virgil Van Dijk’s partner at the heart of defence.

Romano has claimed that Klopp is delighted at the defender’s progress this season, and how he’s adapted to the league so far.

“I’m told they’re super, super happy with his attitude, how professional he is and how he’s performing and adapting to a new league.”

Liverpool and especially Klopp are delighted at Konate’s progress so far this season.

With Liverpool’s performances being mediocre of late after a brilliant start to the season, Konate’s impressive defensive skills have provided us with some hope during this busy festive period. The defender has stepped up when we needed him most, and been a fine addition to Klopp’s roster of centre-backs.

At only 22-years-old, we can expect so much more out of Konate and he can be the mainstay in our defence for years to come. His shifts at the back have been a positive sign of things to come in the future.
