Transfer News: Liverpool show interest in Premier League attackers Jarrod Bowen and Raphinha

According to Liverpool Echo, Jarrod Bowen and Raphinha both continue to capture the fancy of Liverpool heading into the summer transfer window.

The Merseysiders have created a feared attacking trio in Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane upfront. They have been lethal in the last few seasons with the Egyptian and Sengaleese being lauded for their goal-scoring stats and the Brazilian for his work ethic and build-up play from a slightly deeper position.

The trio have played a pivotal part in Liverpool’s success in the last few years guiding them towards some illustrious trophies such as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup as well as the FIFA Club World. They also helped the Merseysiders pick up their first Premier League title in three decades.

Despite all these exploits, it is inevitable that the club will aim to bring in young blood to future-proof the attacking department. Diogo Jota has stamped his authority with some exceptional performances recently and Luis Diaz has already started firing for the Reds bagging his first goal for the Anfield outfit against Norwich City.

That being said, the Merseysiders do compete in multiple competitions throughout the season and a few more attacking options will give them enough strength in depth. This should give them a better chance of competing against Manchester City.

Jarrod Bowen

The West Ham United forward has become an integral part of David Moyes’ setup. He has scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists in 36 matches across all competitions for the hammers this campaign.

That being said, Bowen is much more than just the representation of his stats and provides a physical presence up front. His work ethic through the game especially in the buildup is another key aspect that could make him a tempting proposition for Jurgen Klopp who demands a lot from his players.

At 25, if nurtured in the right manner, the English professional footballer could certainly provide a lot going into the future. His experience in England’s top-flight could be another added bonus.

Raphinha

The Brazilian forward has showcased immense potential under Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United and it is no surprise that we are interested in him at the moment. With nine goals and two assists in 23 matches across all competitions for the Whites, Raphinha is their top scorer this season.

Bielsa demands a very intense brand of football from his players and the fact that the former Sporting CP player thrives under such conditions goes to show the kind of work ethic and commitment he has for the team. His flair and technical prowess on the ball have attracted a lot of eyeballs. Chelsea are believed to be leading the race to sign the 25-year-old trickster at the moment.

In the last few years, Liverpool have adopted a model of bringing in young exciting prospects and developing them to perform for the club on the big stage. While injuries have been part and parcel of the game, the Merseysiders have largely succeeded in luring young talent to Anfield in the recent seasons.

Raphinha and Jarrod Bowen fit this model and could still have their peak footballing years ahead of them if they continue on their current trajectory. Their experience and established repertoire in the PL make them even more alluring. With that in mind, the pursuit of the attacking duo considering the recent exploits won’t be an easy affair.
