Liverpool make contact with La Liga side for 19-year-old starlet

Liverpool thought to have ‘made contact’ with Villarreal for Yeremy Pino

According to El Desmarque (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool are supposedly eyeing Villarreal forward Yeremy Pino. Manchester City are also being linked with the talented teenager.

He has already bagged seven goals and provided four assists in 34 matches across all competitions for the ‘Yellow Submarine’ this campaign. His attacking prowess and ability with the ball make him a treat to watch.

The Reds already possess the feared attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino in their ranks. Whilst these players have played an instrumental role for the Merseysiders in the last few years, the club would be looking to future-proof their attack considering the age of this trio and the physical demands of the modern game.

Liverpool made contact with Villareal for winger Yeremy Pino.

The Anfield outfit have done well to add Diogo Jota who has not only served as a capable backup but has also made a strong claim for a regular starting position in the team. The Reds have most recently added Luis Diaz to their ranks who has hit the ground running almost immediately with the club.

How Yeremy Pino could help Liverpool going forward?

The acquisition of Pino could help the club add more depth in the attacking department, creating a great spine for the future of the Merseysiders. It seems highly unlikely that the youngster would straightaway disrupt the starting hierarchy.

The Spanish professional footballer would have to bide his time with a few appearances here and there but the domestic competitions could provide him with a great platform to showcase his talent. We all know how Jurgen Klopp loves to give deserving youngsters their fair share of opportunities when the time is right.

Going out to purchase a young starlet like Pino is always a double-edged sword as their career has to be navigated quite carefully at such an impressionable age. The Premier league also possesses a different kind of challenge with its physicality and intensity. This could make it quite difficult for anyone, especially a youngster from another league to adapt to the playing conditions in England.

Manchester City are also thought to be interested in Villareal starlet Yeremy Pino

The interest from arch-rivals Man City could be another stumbling block for Liverpool. The financial might of the Citizens has made them very adept at purchasing some of the top talents in the last few years.

At this moment there is only a ‘mere interest’ from the clubs but should the youngster continue to dazzle on the pitch in the same manner, he shouldn’t have any shortage of potential suitors for his services.
