Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah available for the clash against Arsenal at The Emirates
Speaking ahead of the clash against Arsenal as quoted by Liverpool FC, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Mohamed Salah is expected to join Ibrahima Konate in being available for the match against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Salah was forced off during the clash against Brighton shortly after scoring his team’s second goal due to a suspected foot injury. He was a doubt for the clash against the Gunners but the German manager has confirmed the availability of his team’s talisman.
Salah is not the only boost for Klopp, with Konate also expected to be back for the clash against Arsenal. However, the Reds boss did confirm that both James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas will miss the game due to illness.
“Mo is ready to train”
“Ibou is back”
“Millie and Kostas are out”
This comes on the back of the German manager publicly backing Salah (via Fabrizio Romano on Twitter) over contractual issues stating that the Egyptian superstar is extremely committed to Liverpool and that any decisions regarding the future will take place in the summer.
A boost for Klopp?
Klopp would have been worried about the injury to Salah since the Egyptian has been unbelievable for the Reds this season. He has already scored 20 goals in the Premier League this season and his absence would have been a huge loss for the Merseysiders.
Arsenal under Mikel Arteta have been in great form coming into the game against the Reds on the back of five consecutive wins and looking to upset Liverpool in their march for the title. Having Salah fit is essentially a weapon for Jurgen Klopp as the Egyptian on his day can take apart a team single handedly.
Irrespective of what happens with Salah’s contract situation, there is no denying the fact that he is arguably Liverpool’s most important player and it is very crucial that he stays focused on football.
