Transfer News: Liverpool target Moussa Diaby is open to leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer
According to HITC (h/t Liverpool Echo), Reds target Moussa Diaby has conceded that he is open to leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.
The former PSG winger has been in great form in Germany scoring 16 goals and assisting a further nine across all competitions this season. He has already found a place in Didier Deschamps’ star-studded France squad, a testament to his ability at the top level.
The 22-year-old forward primarily operates from the left side of the field, but is versatile enough to play on either wing. The Paris Saint-Germain youth star has found his footing in the Bundesliga and has been prolific since linking up with Leverkusen.
Diaby conceded that he is considering his future with Leverkusen and is contemplating a move in the summer. However he reiterated that right now is not the time to focus on it.
“Obviously, I’m thinking about it, but not too much yet. I remain focused on the end of the season. For the moment, it is my only concern.”
Liverpool are not the only club interested in the French winger with Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester United also said to be keen on the player. Securing him will not be easy given the names on the list.
A good option?
Liverpool have been looking to bolster their forward option for quite some time now and have already made two very shrewd accusations in Luis Diaz and Diego Jota.
The Reds have a few contract issues on hand to solve, with Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane all having contracts expiring at the end of next season. None of the three players have signed a new deal at Anfield yet and Liverpool will want to be prepared just in case.

In Diaby, the Reds will be getting a very young player who has all the attributes to prove himself at the highest level. They will be getting a talented youngster with a lot of potential and is capable of scoring and creating goals.
There is no reason why the 22-year-old can not blossom into a world-class star under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp. Diaby is a gamble that Liverpool could be taking. Whether it pays off remains to be seen.
