Jurgen Klopp blatantly denies the possibility of Liverpool signing Erling Haaland
Speaking in an interview as tweeted by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (via Reuters and BILD), Jurgen Klopp has outright laughed off the idea of Liverpool signing Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window.
The Norwegian is expected to leave Dortmund in the summer with many clubs expected to be in the race for the 21-year-old sensation. The striker has taken Bundesliga by storm in the past few seasons.
Haaland is among the best young players in his position and looks set to enjoy a career at the top of the footballing pyramid. However, if the Liverpool boss’s comments are to be believed, it will not be at Anfield.
Haaland, despite persistent injury troubles, has managed to score 23 goals and provide six assists in 24 appearances this season across all competitions. Such ridiculous numbers are not normal and it is clear that the Norwegian is a special talent.
When Jurgen Klopp was asked if the striker could be on his way to Anfield, the German manager ridiculed the idea saying it would never happen. Given the squad that the German has built at Liverpool, one can say that The 54-year-old knows what he is talking about.
Jürgen Klopp on Erling Haaland deal for Liverpool: “No chance! We won’t be going there. The numbers involved are just crazy – we’ll be having nothing to do with it”, reports Reuters via Bild. 🔴 #LFC

A dent in the finances?
Whilst Haaland will not come cheap for any of his potential suitors, Klopp went on to call the numbers involved in the operation ‘ridiculous’. That does not come as a surprise given that Haaland is represented by superagent, Mino Raiola.
Yes, the 21-year-old is a great talent with a potential that breaks all ceilings but there is a price for everything. How much money is too much money for the Norwegian is a question for the potential suitors but it seems like Liverpool have already pulled the plug.
Liverpool may be looking to reinforce the striker position, especially with Roberto Firmino not getting any younger. They may want to bring in a youngster who can compete for the spot with Diego Jota in the future but they will want to work within their budget.

The Reds will not want to mess up the wage budget that has served them so well over the past few years by making one signing and Haaland, or anyone who comes with a similar price tag is seemingly off the table.
It is still not clear as to where Haaland will be playing next season but Jurgen Klopp seems to have shut the door at Anfield.
