Transfer News: Fabrizio Romano states that Liverpool have signed Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho
According to a tweet by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have signed Fulham midfielder Fabio Carvalho on a permanent deal. It is believed that the current contract will keep the 19-year-old at Anfield till 2027.
The Reds have secured his services for a fee of £5million with potential add-ons of £ 2.7 million. A sell-on clause has also been included and it is believed that the Merseysiders have no plans of sending him back on loan to Craven Cottage.
The Portuguese midfielder has been on our radar for quite some time now and shows the potential to be a world-beater one day. The teenager who made his way through the ranks at Fulham has played 37 matches across all competitions, bagging nine goals and seven assists for the Cottagers’ senior side to date.
Carvalho to Anfield becomes just a matter of time
Carvalho is majorly deployed as an attacking midfielder in his time with the London-based club but has also been used as a central midfielder and left-winger on occasions. He shows great composure and ability on the ball at such a tender age.
Ever since the arrival of FSG, a significant part of the club’s effort has gone into trying to lure young and exciting talents to Anfield. This is a great strategy to ensure that the future of the club from Merseyside is in safe hands.
Jurgen Klopp has also allowed youngsters to strut their stuff in domestic competitions, using it as a launchpad to familiarize them with the first-team setup. Youngsters such as Tyler Morton, Billy Koumetio, and Curtis Jones have hugely benefited from such opportunities.
Harvey Elliott, who made the switch from the Craven Cottage outfit to Liverpool, has grown at a stellar pace, proving to be a dependable option whenever called upon by Klopp. The fans would be hoping that the Portuguese midfielder will have a similar trajectory at Anfield.

It seems like the club has bagged a great one, especially if you take the future into account. Liverpool have been one of the shrewdest customers in the last couple of transfer windows and almost all of their purchases have had a significant impact.
At 19, Fabio Carvalho still has his prime footballing years ahead of him. While it is still very early to make any claim, should our recent track record be taken into consideration, there is absolutely no reason as to why the Portuguese starlet cannot become a pivotal part of our midfield in the future.
