“In the history books”- Liverpool superstar targeting historic quadruple this season

Trent Alexander-Arnold targeting quadruple success with Liverpool ahead of Villarreal encounter

According to The Guardian, Liverpool superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold has urged his teammates to etch their names into footballing folklore by securing the quadruple this season.

The Reds have already won the Carabao Cup and are competing on all other fronts with glory in the offing. Next up is Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds defeated the Yellow Submarines 2-0 in the first leg at Anfield. A trip to the Estadio de la Ceramica beckons and is far from a journey for the faint-hearted. However, the Reds side is not one for being intimidated and is instead keen on writing their own story.

Trent has high expectations from the season.

Trent believes the Reds are on the cusp of something special and is hopeful that the players will see it through. Immortality awaits Jurgen Klopp’s side should they pull off the impossible.

“This is a very special season for us all and hopefully we will see it through, and at the end we will be in the history books again.”

Klopp’s mentality monsters have thrived off adversity and pressure in recent seasons to achieve glory. This campaign is no different and the Reds appear to be ready for the challenge. Trent admits that the Reds use the pressure to inspire themselves to do even better. Given the performances on offer, one cannot argue with that assessment.

“I feel like we thrive off it.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold is already a Champions League winner.

The prospect of a third Champions League final in five years was unfathomable just a few seasons ago. Liverpool are today among the best teams in world football and it is time they left an indelible mark on the history of the game. A win at the Ceramica will take them one step closer.

A year can be a long time in football and Liverpool perfectly encapsulates that. The Reds struggled to qualify for the UEFA Champions League last season but have made short work of Europe’s best this time around.

Immortality awaits Jurgen Klopp and his men this May. Whether they will reach out and seize it remains to be seen. They are seven games away from making history, starting tomorrow in Spain.
