Liverpool given positive Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho injury update ahead of UCL final

According to Liverpool’s official site, Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho will be part of the travelling squad to Paris for the UEFA Champions League final after attending the recent training session.

Thiago has been one of Liverpool’s stand out performers in this campaign. He has been a dominant force in the midfield and has projected a significant impact in his second season in England.

He was taken off during Liverpool’s final league game against Wolves after the Spaniard suffered a muscle issue. But it is believed that he has made his comeback to training and seems to have made a successful recovery.

Fabinho has also played a significant number of matches this term. However, he has been sidelined since May 10 after suffering a muscular injury during a match against Aston Villa. The 28-year-old has also made his recovery and is expected to be on the plane to Paris.

According to Liverpool’s official site, the duo would travel to Paris in order to feature against Real Madrid in the Champions League final. They were involved in training sessions and might be ready to return to match action.

“The pair will be among the players journeying to Paris for Saturday’s clash at Stade de France following injury concerns and are set to come into contention to return.”

An advantage for Liverpool?

Thiago and Fabinho have been one of the best performers in the Premier League this term. Their output from the midfield has attracted heavy praise and they have been a crucial weapon in Jurgen Klopp’s Arsenal.

Even though Liverpool have won two titles – the FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season, they could yet add to it. They are now set to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final and their result in that game should determine how they would be remembered.

Failing to secure the Premier League trophy has made the UCL final even more significant for the Reds. As they lose to Los Blancos in the 2018 final, Jurgen Klopp and co might be excited to overturn the result to their advantage this time.
