Jose Enrique tells Liverpool to make three more signings and sell three players after Darwin Nunez capture

On his Twitter account, Jose Enrique replied to a fan who asked him to mention which players Liverpool can sell and where they can strengthen after securing the signing of Darwin Nunez, who is set to move to Anfield this summer, as per Sky Sports.

The former Reds full-back who also played for Newcastle United mentioned that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Takumi Minamino and Rhys Williams should be the three players Liverpool should sell this summer.

When it comes to incomings, he mentioned the need for a right-winger, a right-back, and a central midfielder. In all fairness, his comments make sense.

Mohamed Salah has been overworked down the right flank and the Reds don’t really have a natural backup for him down that flank. The same is the case with Trent Alexander-Arnold down the right side of our defence, which is why we have been linked with Calvin Ramsay of Aberdeen.

What next for LFC?

Joe Gomez has been used there but he has seen some of his best spells with LFC at centre-back. Neco Williams may not be comfortable with a backup role because he had to be loaned out to Fulham for regular playing time.

As for a central midfielder, a number 8 who pushes for starts, Enrique is spot on. Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson cannot keep playing forever at their age.

The Englishman, at times, doesn’t look at the same level as his Spanish partner in midfield but being our captain and leader, Hendo is used to leading the team out on the pitch. The Ox has been linked with a move away from Anfield.

Aston Villa are apparently keen on signing him, which then frees up another spot in midfield. James Milner, at his age, is in the last phase of his playing career, while Fabinho Tavares is overworked in defensive midfield.

All things considered, the Reds would be smart to strengthen in these three positions to really push for the title next season. As for Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, and Williams being potentially sold, it shall not have a lot of impact on our first-team set-up.
