LFC Transfer News: West Ham United celebrating Darwin Nunez to Liverpool because of Jarrod Bowen reason

According to GiveMeSport (h/t the Express), West Ham United are ‘celebrating’ Liverpool signing Darwin Nunez because that means the chances of Jarrod Bowen making a switch to Anfield has reduced.

The Hammers forward has been linked with a move to LFC recently. Akin to Diogo Jota, Bowen can play out on the wings as well as down the middle as a goal-getter.

Versatile, homegrown, and just 25 years of age, it makes sense why his name was linked to the Reds. But the London-based club are now hopeful that LFC don’t approach the Englishman, whose contract expires in 2025.

Earning £60,000 a week, Bowen would be on improved terms if he signs an extension at the London Stadium. As for the Reds, it really doesn’t make sense to spend the big bucks to sign him now.

No Bowen to LFC?

The move for Nunez saw Liverpool agree on a fee of €100million including add-ons. While they may not have to pay all of it up front, the Reds are still parting ways with a significant figure for the Uruguayan.

Sadio Mane is linked with a move to Bayern Munich. That is not a secret anymore. But even if the Senegalese leaves, the Reds are better off waiting before making another move.

Luis Diaz’s addition this January has eased things to a huge extent. The Colombian superstar has made the left flank his own and it is highly likely that we see Diaz, Nunez, and Mohamed Salah as our starting front three next season.

Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota are two of the finest names one can have competing for spots. Instead, the Reds would be wise to save that money and get a midfielder- one they like and one who can hold down the fort in the middle of the park for years to come.
