Transfer News: Chelsea could spoil Jude Bellingham plan for Liverpool
According to Football.London, Chelsea hold a ‘long-term’ interest in Liverpool transfer target, Jude Bellingham. And that can come as a blow to the Reds in their pursuit of a player Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola has already labelled ‘fantastic’.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that they will act on it, but the Blues keeping tabs on the youngster since his days at Birmingham City can surely mean potential trouble in the future for us.
It is claimed that the Reds have gone as far as offering £85.5million for the 18-year-old England international. Nevertheless, it is likely that the midfielder leaves Borussia Dortmund only next season.
As if Real Madrid’s involvement in this transfer race wasn’t worrying enough, Chelsea’s long-term interest would come as a further blow. Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp may not deploy similar formations and tactics on the pitch.
Something to worry about for LFC?
But the situation in both teams’ midfield is more or less the same. Jorginho and N’Golo Kante are solid players and regular starters for the Blues in the middle of the park, but they aren’t getting any younger.
That is the case with Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara at Liverpool. Mateo Kovacic is comparatively younger and has done well whenever called upon, just like Naby Keita for the Reds.
And as Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones try to make a case for minutes in central midfield under Klopp, Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour would be wanting to do the same next season. Amidst this, if the Blues act on their interest in Bellingham, things could get tricky.

He would have the chance to become a regular starter for both these teams and become the successor of one of their more established senior midfielders. And for the sake of their interest in the player, our fans would be praying Thomas Tuchel lets this one slide.
