Transfer News: Liverpool don’t want to loan out Neco Williams after Calvin Ramsay confirmation

According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are now opposed to sending Neco Williams out on loan. The Welsh defender was sent to Fulham on a temporary basis in the latest season.

And it was thought that the 21-year-old could be sent out on a temporary move once again this campaign with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar getting closer by the day. But that stance has seemingly changed.

The Reds now want a permanent move for Neco, who they value at around £15million. Premier League new-boys Fulham and Nottingham Forest are both interested in his services.

Such a move would make sense. It is clear that the LFC academy graduate isn’t very happy with being backup to Trent Alexander-Arnold, given his loan spell last season.

Neco on his way out?

He did enjoy minutes with the Cottagers and once a player gets a taste of regular first-team football, it is difficult to start warming the bench once again. And perhaps a move away from Anfield would be best for him.

Trent does not seem like slowing down anytime soon. He will only get better with time and it is clear how central he is to Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Any fee that we may get for Williams will then go a long way in balancing our books this season. The Reds have already signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay.

The teenage Scotsman is expected to be Trent’s backup from next season, but that could depend on how he fares this pre-season. It remains to be seen what happens with Williams but the Reds won’t be missing a lot were he to leave this summer.
