Southampton and PSV Eindhoven join transfer race for Liverpool star Neco Williams

According to Liverpool Echo, Southampton and PSV Eindhoven have entered the race to sign Liverpool star Neco Williams on a potential transfer this summer. He appears to be in line to leave Anfield ahead of the next season, with a permanent move being touted as of now.

The Reds have no interest in facilitating another loan move for Williams as they did last season. He joined Fulham temporarily in January and played a crucial role in helping them achieve promotion to the Premier League. In fact, he is more likely to join them permanently this summer.

However, two new competitors in the Saints and PSV have registered their interest in the Welshman right now. Nottingham Forest are also in the mix to secure his services, and this heightened demand would certainly increase the Merseysiders’ chances of seeing their £15million valuation being met by the involved parties.

Transfer boost for Liverpool!

We have recently signed Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen for a fee of £6.5million, which certainly seems to be a great piece of business right now. After all, we have secured a deal for a highly rated youngster who looks to be a great backup for Trent Alexander-Arnold for the next campaign.

At one point, it was thought that Williams would play the role of the understudy, which seems not to be the case at this instant. However, he is now likely to depart Anfield this summer which would certainly be beneficial for us if we earn a fee that meets our asking price.

The new interested parties would certainly help us in that regard as we can have great leeway during negotiations due to the current demand. But then again, the suitors would be aware of Ramsay joining us and that Neco could be ousted from the first-team picture because of the Scotsman.

It is thought that we have already completed our transfer business for this summer after the arrivals of Fabio Carvalho and Darwin Nunez alongside Ramsay. Then again, it remains to be seen if that stance will change if we can make enough sales to boost our budget this summer.

The supporters believe that they could use reinforcements in midfield but whether that will happen or not will only be known in due time. Perhaps Williams’ sale and potential exits of some of the fringe players would help in that regard in this transfer window.
