Transfer News: Real Madrid now in the race to sign Inter Milan midfielder and Liverpool target Nicolo Barella
Real Madrid have entered the transfer race to sign Liverpool target, Nicolo Barella. The Inter Milan midfielder has become a man in demand this summer.
And it seems that Los Blancos want to sign him from the 2020/21 Scudetto winners, handing the Reds another transfer blow in the process. They signed Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco, a midfielder who was linked with a move to the Reds this summer.
Cadena SAR (h/t Liverpool Echo) suggested earlier this month that Madrid could also battle Liverpool for Jude Bellingham in the near future. And now, Italian outlet CalcioMercato (h/t Liverpool Echo) claims that Madrid are in the running for Barella.
It further adds that Madrid are planning to offer two players for the Inter star in a potential swap deal, as compared to Liverpool’s one- Naby Keita.
Another transfer blow from Real Madrid
This could provide the Serie A giants with two stars in place of their Italian midfield general- Dani Ceballos and defender Nacho Fernandez.
With Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni being linked with a move away from the Nerazzurri, Nacho could appeal to the Serie A behemoths. Ceballos, meanwhile, could be an astute addition in case they were to lose Barella.
It remains to be seen what Inter think of this apparent proposal for a player they value at around £77million– by no means a small figure. But the Reds would hope that it doesn’t appeal to them.
