Transfer News: Liverpool make offer for Chelsea, PSG and Bayern Munich target Ousmane Dembele
According to Spanish outlet Sport (Print Edition) via Paisley Gates [h//t Liverpool Echo], Liverpool are one of the teams to make an offer for FC Barcelona superstar Ousmane Dembele.
Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea are also interested in the winger who becomes a free agent this summer if he doesn’t renew his deal with Barca. The Catalan giants hope that he does.
And why wouldn’t they? Dembele was arguably Xavi Hernandez’s finest attacker towards the end of the latest season and at 25, he still has a lot of years left in him. If he keeps fit, he can even keep on improving to become a truly world-class player, if he isn’t one already.
It is understandable why clubs are circling around the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. Able to play with both his feet and possessing wonderful dribbling and passing abilities, Dembele is a fine playmaker out on the flanks.
A move to LFC makes sense for Dembele
Signing a player of his calibre for free is an amazing prospect for any team in the world. For Barca, it is a nightmare situation to lose an attacker they signed for £135.5million back in 2017.
The following five years have been marred with injuries and inconsistency. But whenever he is on the pitch, his skill and ability are never up for debate.
PSG’s interest in particular seems interesting because on paper, it would be hard to see where Dembele fits for them. Surely a player of his status and calibre would not want to warm the bench wherever he ends up next season.
Angel di Maria, Lionel Messi, the wondrous Neymar, and Julian Draxler are all options their new manager can use out wide. Of this, the first three names are effectively undroppable.

Meanwhile, at Liverpool, there is a change coming. Sadio Mane is already out and Mohamed Salah could be let go next year if his contract isn’t renewed. While Luis Diaz is a menace down the left-hand side, Dembele can make the right flank his very own if he decides to move to Anfield.
