European giants willing to banish Liverpool transfer target for a year to ‘teach him a lesson’

Transfer News: Bayern Munich to get ruthless with Liverpool and Real Madrid target Serge Gnabry

Real Madrid and Liverpool are two teams that are interested in signing Bayern Munich forward Serge Gnabry, as per Spanish outlet SPORT (h/t the Express). But now, things could get messy.

According to Kicker from Germany (h/t the Express), the Bavarians are prepared to get ruthless with Gnabry and are prepared to leave him out of their first team for a whole year ‘to teach him a lesson’. His contract expires next year.

That means the former Arsenal star can leave as a free agent in the summer of 2023, with Los Blancos

and the Reds already vying for his signature. This has irked Bayern’s hierarchy, and Gnabry would undoubtedly be livid with such a stance.

There is a World Cup later this year and Gnabry would want to be on the team sheet as often as possible. The Reds have apparently held talks with his agents as well, with Gnabry represented by ROOF- who also represent Sadio Mane.

What next for LFC?

Bayern’s supposed stance regarding their star forward could really be troublesome for us if Gnabry is indeed a transfer target. The Bavarians signing Mane was a big occasion for them and they treated it as such.

Losing a player of Gnabry’s calibre shortly after bringing in the Senegalese superstar would really take the shine off their headline summer signing, especially with Robert Lewandowski also wanting a move away from the Allianz Arena.

At 26, Gnabry is playing in his peak years. Any team would be lucky to have a versatile, quality forward like him in their ranks- especially the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp’s stance on the Bayern star may be unknown but he has shown an inclination towards signing forwards that can play across several positions. Takumi Minamino, Diogo Jota, and Sadio Mane are just a few examples.

More Liverpool News:

It would be immoral and unethical from Bayern’s side if they really do banish Gnabry from their team but with the amount of money on the line in today’s game, the sport has started to accept such practices as a necessary evil to protect their best interests.
