According to ThisIsAnfield.com (h/t the Mirror), Owen Beck has received offers from unnamed sides in Ligue 1, Serie A, and the Primeira Liga as he looks set to leave Liverpool on loan this summer.
Conor Bradley has already sealed a temporary move to Bolton Wanderers, while Billy Koumetio will play at Austria Vienna for the next season. James Balagizi will be at Crawley Town for the 2022/23 campaign and now, 19-year-old Beck seems to be the next one in line.
Still a teenager, he has become a regular for our U23 side but now aims on getting senior experience. As per Liverpool Echo‘s Keifer MacDonald (h/t the Mirror), he has already had interest from the Premier League and the Championship.
And there are currently teams in France, Italy, and Portugal that may want his services. The Reds’ left side of the defence is sorted for the time being, with Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas at the peak of their powers.
‘The Greek Scouser’, in fact, is good enough to give Robbo a run for his money in the starting XI. Amidst this, it seems nearly impossible for Beck, who has several caps for Wales U21, to break into our first-team setup, at least for now.
Hence, it is the best solution for him to go out and seek playing time elsewhere. The Reds, as a result, can monitor his progress and see if he has what it takes to become a left-back for the senior team in the future.
Beck already has two senior appearances under his belt for Jurgen Klopp’s side. He featured against Preston North End and Leicester City in the EFL Cup last season- a trophy we went on to win against Chelsea at Wembley.
Some time out on loan can help him increase that number in the future but the Reds must choose his next club carefully- preferably one that can hand him the most playing time in the top flight.
