Fabio Carvalho makes big promises in his first interview as a Liverpool player
Signing for Liverpool following the completion of his £7.5million transfer from Fulham, Fabio Carvalho gave the impression that he has his sights set on achieving big things.
Carvalho made a significant contribution to Fulham’s successful Championship campaign, which resulted in their promotion to the Premier League. In 38 games across all competitions, the teenager scored 11 goals and contributed eight assists, establishing himself as one of the team’s most important players.
The 19-year-old was signed by the Merseysiders in May, but the club just recently made his signing official. He is the third new acquisition the team has made official this summer after Darwin Nunez, who signed from Benfica, and Calvin Ramsay.
Carvalho revealed his amusement for signing for Liverpool and stated that he wishes to secure humongous achievements in the future with the Reds.
“It’s just an amazing feeling to be here at one of the biggest clubs in the world, if not the biggest. So, I’m just happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started. Once you hear that Liverpool are interested, there’s only one thought in your mind, which is to join them and try to be in and around the team. Hopefully, I can achieve big things.”
The 19-year-old also stated how he is intending to help the Liverpool team in regards to playing style. Just a teenager, fans would want him to be eased into the first-team set-up, however.
“That’s what I’m here to do, to be able to help the team with my assists, creativity and goals. I’m looking forward to it.”
Since Carvalho will probably start his Liverpool stint behind players like Nunez and Luis Diaz, he is a player to watch out for in the future. Although this was the Portuguese star’s first official interview as a Liverpool player, he came across as assured and enthusiastic about the future.
The 19-year-old’s performances have certainly impressed the Reds, and his playing style exhibits maturity. The young Portuguese talent has the ability to succeed at the highest level, and with Liverpool’s top-notch infrastructure and coaching staff, he may do so in the near future.
Carvalho is a versatile player who can play as a left-winger, attacking midfielder, or centre midfielder, making him a flexible option for Klopp to have. Liverpool need to fix its ageing core in midfield, and it already seems to be doing so.
Finding talent before they become world-class players has been Liverpool’s defining characteristic under Jurgen Klopp. Not only does it potentially save the club some money but also ensures that we get in hungry players waiting to prove a point to the world.
The Reds’ supporters would like to see Carvalho become the next big thing here. There is every reason to think that the 19-year-old can mature into a world-class player given his age.
